Impeller Trimming

Impeller trimming means the reduction of the impeller diameter to adjust the pump performance to the duty point.

Q = flow rate
H = head
D = impeller size
The indices relate to the respective impeller diameter.

This relationship allows adjustment of the H-Q curve with approximate accuracy. Improved results can be got considering a complete performance chart with different impeller diameters.
